Situated in the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains, Underberg School is co-educational, with small classes from Grade R (age 5 turning 6) to Grade 7. Our unique offering allows us to incorporate hands-on environmental learning into the education programme, broadening the horizons of each learner in our care.
In addition to our Primary School we also offer Pre-Primary schooling for learners between 2 and 3 years old up to Grade RR (age 4 turning 5).

Quick Facts
Pre-Primary
Underberg Pre-Primary strives to create an environment where children grow to be happy, secure, and independent, with strong self-esteem and social skills. We lay a solid foundation for your child’s future learning.
We encourage both indoor and outdoor learning, utilising a variety of materials and equipment to enhance and develop motor skills.
We promote language enrichment through storytelling, role play,
songs, and rhymes.
Primary
We encourage children to reach their potential through individualised attention within a stimulating environment. The teachers aim to create happy and vibrant classrooms where focused learning can take place.
Our aim is for children to leave at the end of Grade 7 as confident, articulate, well mannered individuals, who have all the skills necessary to succeed at the high school of their choice.
Our main focus is on academic standards, with the emphasis placed on English, Maths and Science.

We Believe In Young Children
Offering more outside the classroom
Environmental Education is a great feature of our school. The environment around us must be used in a number of settings and learners must be able to visit places outside the school and gain first hand knowledge of the world around them.
